Interested in changing/swapping rooms?
Current residents will have the opportunity to participate in online room changes on Monday, Dec. 2 or online room swaps on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Only confirmed vacant rooms will be available for the Spring 2025 online room changes. Please note there are limited vacant spaces available as they are solely dependent upon housing cancellations.
On Monday, Dec. 2, space permitting, you may:
- Select a different space (between 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
- Create a roommate group and pull a new roommate into a different space with you (Please note: You can find step by step room change instructions here.)
On Tuesday, Dec. 3, space permitting, you may:
- Swap spaces with another resident (between 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
- Only swap with another interested student
- Only swap if both students are eligible for the spaces they are interested in swapping into (i.e. upperclass students are ineligible for first-year buildings or students requiring special housing may not be eligible for some spaces).

As you finalize your plans to participate in room changes:
- Please know that if you have a vacancy in your room, another student may do a room change into that space, but you cannot pull them into that space.
- Requested changes will be processed immediately, but you will need to wait until you are contacted by your new Residence Education Coordinator for coordination of the key pick up and move in.
- NOTE: Residents who process room changes/room swaps must plan to move within 48 hours of being contacted by the Residence Education Coordinator.
- EXCEPTIONS: Residents wanting to move to sorority houses must be on the placement list provided by the organization and residents requesting the move must send an email requesting the change to hrlmailbox@charlotte.edu by Friday, November 29.
