Students interested in completing room swaps with other assigned students will be able to do so online Dec. 3. A room swap is only available to students who find another student interested in swapping assignments. EXAMPLE - Daniel and Peter are roommates, but Andy wants to be Daniel’s roommate. Andy must reach out to Peter to see if he is willing to swap spaces.
EXAMPLE: Daniel and Peter are roommates, but Andy wants to be Daniel’s roommate. Andy must reach out to Peter to see if he is willing to swap spaces. You can find a diagram explaining room swaps here.
NOTE: You request a swap with the roommate of the person you want to live with AND both students must be eligible for the spaces they are interested in swapping into (i.e. upperclass students are ineligible for first-year buildings or students requiring special housing may not be eligible for some spaces).
ROOM SWAP INSTRUCTIONS
In order to complete this online process, you must complete the following:
- Determine who will initiate the swap invitation. The initiator will need the student ID number of the student who will need to accept the swap invitation.
- Once the swap invitation has been submitted, make sure that the person invited to swap assignment accepts the invitation.
- All invitations must be accepted by 5 p.m. on Dec. 3.
This process will become available on Dec. 3. All swaps will be between 2 individuals and will only be processed if both invitations and acceptances are completed by eligible students before 5 p.m. on Dec. 3. Students considering swaps should review posted room rates BEFORE processing swaps as rates vary depending upon residence hall and room type. NOTE: incomplete room swap requests OR ineligible room swaps will not be processed.
All students interested in requesting online room swaps may do so via the Online Housing System. Once you have logged in, select View or Change Room Assignments and Roommate Groups and then under the Room Swap section, click Room Swap for Spring 2025, then follow the on-screen prompts to participate.
