Below are the cancellation deadlines for the upcoming semesters. Review your Contract for Residential Services for your application period to find the further information about the applicable financial obligations related to your cancellation.
Housing Cancellation Request
To request cancellation of your housing contract, you must log into the Online Housing System and submit a Housing Cancellation Request.
Spring 2025 Only Cancellation Deadlines
Spring 2025 Contract
(Includes students living on campus and assigned ONLY for Spring semester). Cancel By:
- December 9, 2024: Last day students who applied using the Spring 2025 Only Application may cancel with all charges for residential services (except the $100 non-refundable application processing fee) removed from the student’s account
- December 10, 2024 through January 9, 2025: Students who applied using the Spring 2025 Only Application are responsible for payment of a $750.00 liquidated damages fee.
- Beginning January 10, 2025: Students who applied using the Spring 2025 Only Application are responsible for paying the prorated amount of the room rate for each day the room was occupied, plus 50% of the remaining contracted housing charges as liquidated damages, not as a penalty.
2024-2025 Cancellation Deadlines
Fall 2024 - Spring 2025 Academic Year Contract
(Includes all students living on campus Fall semester and assigned for Spring semester). Cancel By:
Returning Resident Student Applicants who applied for housing when the RTCL process was available:
- April 1, 2024: Last date returning students who applied when the Return to Campus Living (RTCL) process was available may cancel with all charges removed from the student’s account.
- Cancellation from April 2, 2024 through June 1, 2024: Returning students who applied when the Return to Campus Living process was available are responsible for payment of a $750.00 liquidated damages fee.
- Cancellation from June 2, 2024 - August 13, 2024: Returning students who applied when the Return to Campus Living process was available are responsible for paying 50% of the annual housing charges as liquidated damages, not as a penalty.
- Cancellation on or after August 14, 2024: Returning students who applied when the Return to Campus Living process was available are responsible for paying the prorated amount of the room rate for each day the room was occupied, plus 50% of the remaining contracted annual housing charges as liquidated damages, not as a penalty.
First-Year Student Applicants, Transfer Student Applicants, Continuing Student Applicants, and Returning Resident Applicants who did not apply when the RTCL process was available:
- June 1, 2024: Last day students who applied using the new 2024-2025 housing application may cancel with all charges removed from the student’s account.
- Cancellation from June 2, 2024 through July 15, 2024: Students who applied using the new 2024-2025 housing application are responsible for payment of a $750.00 liquidated damages fee.
- Cancellation from July 16, 2024 through August 13, 2024: Students who applied using the new 2024-2025 housing application are responsible for paying 50% of the annual housing charges as liquidated damages, not as a penalty.
- Cancellation on or after August 14, 2024: Students who applied using the new 2024-2025 housing application are responsible for paying the prorated amount of the room rate for each day the room was occupied, plus 50% of the remaining contracted annual housing charges as liquidated damages, not as a penalty.
