Move-in for new residents joining us for Spring 2026 is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 9 and Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026 from 1 to 5 p.m. each day. You can start preparing for your arrival now by exploring our Spring Move-In Guide.
NOTE: Students attending New Student Orientation on Jan. 6 are automatically approved to move in early on Jan. 5 (unless they opted out). Students attending Orientation on Jan. 6 or 7 who need to move in before Jan. 9 must email hrlmailbox@charlotte.edu to request early arrival by Dec. 19.
Important information included in the Spring Move-In Guide:
- Move-In Dates/Times. Move in for new residents joining us for Spring 2026 is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 9 and Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026 from 1 to 5 p.m. each day
- Late arrivals. If you are moving in after the established move-in period of Jan. 9-10, you should reach out to your hall’s REC to share your late arrival and anticipated arrival date to avoid cancellation. After Saturday, Jan. 10, you will be able to pick up your key each day from noon to 11 p.m. at your assigned hall. Please note that at some points within this time, a staff member may not be at the desk and you will need to call for assistance as directed by the signage in the hall.
- Driving and Parking Directions. Spring residents will check in at their assigned halls' front desk. Please enter campus via the entrance closest to your residence hall and park in a guest parking deck/lot (a parking map can be found here).
- Move-In Tips. Find tips to make your move-in day as smooth as possible here.
- Packing List. We've compiled a list of what you should bring to campus and what you should leave at home here.
- Upload your ID photo and set up your 49er Mobile ID. Upload your ID photo and set up your 49er Mobile ID. In order to access the residence hall, residents need to set up their 49er Mobile ID. Set up your mobile UNC Charlotte ID at least 1 business day before your arrival. If you haven’t yet, please follow the instructions here.
- Appliance Rental. Residents can rent select appliances including micro-fridge and mini fridge/freezer units eliminating the hassle of transporting and carrying your own unit from home. Details about this program can be found here.
- Renters Insurance. Students wishing to protect their belongings from the possibility of loss should obtain appropriate insurance coverage. Some residents may be covered under their parents' existing homeowner's or renter's policy. Check with your personal insurance company for more information.
