What do you love most about being a Niner?
I love how lively our campus is during the school year. There’s always something to get involved in, something to get excited about, an event to go to, etc. You’ll always find people on one of the many green areas on campus tanning, playing volleyball, reading, or just hanging out with friends. It makes our campus feel really inviting and special. I also love how diverse UNCC is. I feel that when I look at our student body, I see so many different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences which, to me, is an important part of a general college experience.
I wanted to be a housing ambassador because I genuinely enjoyed my time living on campus and creating a community so I wanted to assist other students - returning, incoming, or prospective students - with navigating on-campus living so that they could also create a community for themselves and experience all the great things that come with living on campus.
What extracurricular activities are you involved with on campus?
I’m a general member of the Organization of African Students and was in the modeling segment of our yearly showcase, I sing in our university’s gospel choir, and this coming fall, I’ll be working in the University’s Center for Academic Excellence as a peer tutor.
What is the best part about living on campus?
The best part of living on campus is having the opportunity to truly be immersed in campus life as a whole. On-campus living provides you with convenient proximity which allows you to be involved in student organizations, events, and more involved in your classes as well. It also gives you the chance to connect with other residents that live within your hall.
