What do you love most about being a Niner?
I love the community that we have here on campus. There’s enough people from different backgrounds that anyone can find a place for themselves here. We also have so many student organizations that it’s impossible to not find something you like. Additionally, I love how many resources there are for students to help them with whatever they need.
I wanted to be a Housing Ambassador because I knew it was a job I’d enjoy. One of the reasons I chose UNC Charlotte was because of the quality of the residence halls, and getting to share that with other incoming and prospective students makes me feel proud of my choice to come here.
What extracurricular activities are you involved with on campus?
On campus I’m involved in the Pride of Niner Nation Marching Band where I play the mellophone, and this fall I’ll be working as a member of the field crew. I’m also a member of the Gold Standard Chapter of the Collegiate 100, and the UNCC Boxing Club. Additionally starting this fall I will be working as a Success Guide under the University Center for Academic Excellence, where I’ll be coaching undergraduate students in their social and academic development.
What is the best part about living on campus?
The best part about living on campus is the community. Since we’re all living here together we get to know each other over time, and eventually we find ourselves having connections with everybody. Also, since living on campus gives us proximity to all the student events, you eventually start to see familiar faces everywhere you go, which makes the campus feel more like home.
