What do you love most about being a Niner?

What I love most about being a Niner is how, despite our large student population, UNC Charlotte still feels like a tight-knit community. There are countless opportunities to connect with others through clubs, events, organizations, and programs, and living on campus only amplifies that sense of belonging. I love attending athletic events, cheering for Charlotte no matter the outcome, and meeting new people along the way. I especially appreciate how green and beautiful our campus is, as each season reveals a new side of UNC Charlotte’s charm.

What made you want to be a Housing Ambassador?

I wanted to become a Housing Ambassador because I am genuinely impressed and appreciative of our on-campus housing options, and I’ve always enjoyed sharing insights and guiding others. I often found myself giving informal tours to younger friends and relatives, so when I saw a flyer advertising the Housing Ambassador position, I thought, “Why not?” It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my college career. This role has deepened my connection to the Charlotte community, helped me grow professionally through office management and customer service, and strengthened my public speaking skills while leading tours. It’s also opened doors to connect with students and professionals I might not have met otherwise, enriching my college experience and supporting my future goals.

What extracurricular activities are you involved with on campus?

In addition to being a Housing Ambassador, I serve as President of the Orthodox Christian Fellowship of Charlotte. I’m also a STAR mentor for Leadership Fellows, having started as a mentee. I’m also involved with the Supply Chain Association, Women in Business, and the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. On the recreational side, I’ve participated in Intramural Soccer and Basketball, which has been a fun way to stay active and meet new people.

What is the best part about living on campus?

It might sound cliché, but the best part about living on campus is being so deeply connected to the community. As a first-year student, living on campus helped me build a strong foundation for success throughout my college journey. I love being within walking distance of my classes and having easy access to sporting events and campus activities. Living on campus also means I can take full advantage of amenities like UREC and its workout classes, the library, the Student Union lounges and movie theater, and the newly renovated Prospector.
