Why did you choose to be an RA and what has been the most fulfilling part of your experience?

I wanted to get involved with the campus community and provide mentorship to freshmen about everything no one will tell you about building a career DURING college (plus, I needed to fight the cs stereotype).

I have found through my interactions with residents that it really is about the friends you make along the way and is the most fulfilling part about being an RA!

How do you manage your academics, leadership roles, and extracurriculars with your Resident Advisor job?

I use time blocking, try to delegate work where I can, constantly re-evaluate priorities, and the indomitable human spirit.

How has the Resident Advisor role developed you personally and professionally?

Being a Resident Advisor has taught me that how you show up in your community is much more important than you realize. This has brought me fulfillment personally and success professionally. It all starts with saying hello to your neighbors!
