Attention New Applicants!
We have paused the housing application for new applicants as of May 25, 2026. We will process the housing applications already received to assess remaining housing availability before determining if we can accept additional applications for Fall 2026-Spring 2027.
If you did not apply before the application was paused, but are interested in the possibility of applying for housing for Fall 2026-Spring 2027 please complete the housing application interest form in the housing portal.
If you started an application before May 25, but did not fully submit it, you are able to log back in and complete an application already in progress.
If you are an incoming first-time-in-college student who did not start a housing fall 2026 - spring 2027 application prior to the pause on May 25, 2026, we recommend you complete the interest form in the portal so we can reach back out if/when we are able to accept additional housing applications.
If you are an incoming transfer student, graduate or continuing student who did start your housing application prior to the pause on May 25, 2026, we recommend that you secure off-campus housing arrangements for the upcoming year as soon as possible.
If you are unsure of where to begin your off-campus search, we recommend the Niner Choice Program. The Niner Choice Program is a safety education initiative designed to help students and families make informed decisions about off-campus living options. Please continue to watch your UNC Charlotte email for updates. While we cannot provide an exact timeline for when you will receive your assignment, our goal is to assign as many students as possible prior to the start of the New Student Orientation this summer. You will receive a notification to your UNC Charlotte email account when you have been assigned.
Yes! You’ll want to closely watch your email for updates and a possible invitation to log back in to complete a housing application. Simply completing the interest form does not guarantee the ability to apply and is not the housing application itself.
If for any reason your plans change and you no longer require housing, please keep your contract cancellation deadlines and the applicable financial obligations in mind. To request cancellation of your housing contract, you must log into the Online Housing System and submit a Housing Cancellation Request.
We will process the housing applications we have already received to better gauge housing availability before determining if we can accept additional applications for Fall 2026-Spring 2027.
