I chose to become a DA because I wanted to give back to the UNC Charlotte community and help students feel more comfortable navigating college life. During my freshman year, I remember having questions about things like receiving mail and finding my way around campus, and the desk assistants helped me feel less uncertain. Now, I enjoy being able to provide that same support to residents. The role has strengthened my communication, organization, and administrative skills, which also relate to my majors in Accounting and Japanese. As a Street Team member, I hope to collaborate with other DAs and RAs to make desk operations more consistent and efficient so residents receive reliable information. I balance my academics, work, and extracurricular activities by using Google Calendar to organize my commitments and set aside time for studying. Overall, the most fulfilling part of being a DA is knowing that I can make a positive difference in my community.
