I chose to be an RA because I wanted to make campus feel smaller and more supportive for students who are adjusting, struggling, or just looking for connection. I remembered how much a good RA can shape someone's first year, and I wanted to be that presence for others. The most fulfilling part has been watching a shy resident find their friend group, or hearing that something I said made their semester easier. The role has also made me more confident in difficult conversations and steadier under pressure.
