7/27/23 UPDATE: Construction for Phase XVI is delayed, which will affect move-in.
The contractor, New Atlantic Contracting, notified the University they can no longer meet the agreed-upon timeline because of unexpected delays in critical path items. These are tasks that must be completed for the University to take occupancy of the building.
Important Details:
- Students assigned to Phase XVI for fall 2023 WILL have University housing.
- Residents will be temporarily housed in alternative on-campus housing or in a local hotel, Hilton Charlotte University Place Hotel. More information has been sent to each resident via email on Thursday, July 27, that outlines their temporary housing assignment
- Students will be compensated for the inconvenience this temporary housing assignment causes, and more information was shared directly with the students about this compensation, based on their temporary assignment, in the July 27 email.
- Once it opens, the University will support residents' move to Phase XVI.
